Scientists at the Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Princeton University have shown that single-stranded DNA can be promptly adsorbed onto functionalized graphene via hydrophobic and π-stacking interactions. The absorbed single-stranded DNA can then be protected from enzymatic attack, a characteristic that should make graphene-based DNA biosensors highly durable. (See the complete story here).
